Outings, Visits, Study Days and Holidays

We run occasional special events, and trips to places of particular art interest - of all sorts! Sometimes just a day visit, sometimes over several days including hotel accommodation and visits to a number of locations in the area. Study Days may involve a look in depth at a topic or even a practical workshop.

Arts and Crafts Architecture in the Lake District

A rare opportunity to visit two of the best examples in the Lake District of private houses, designed by two of Britain’s famous architects of the “Arts and Crafts” Movement: Broad Leys and Blackwell, both just south of Bowness-on-Windermere and with stunning views over the lake.

All materials will be provided; also teas, coffees, a home-made soup and bread lunch, and afternoon cake!

The course will be run by our Programme Secretary Bernadette Ashby, who also creates her own work as Croft Designs, assisted by Linda Ivison our Chair.
