The Mystery of Giorgione

The Venetian Renaissance artist, Giorgione, is renowned yet current thinking attributes just a handful of paintings to him. Not only is little known of Giorgione's short life, his paintings also defy interpretation and are shrouded in mystery. This lecture seeks to explain some of the mysteries surrounding Giorgione and his work, and the causes for them.

Lecturer Guy Lawson is an author based in Cumbria who has a passionate interest in Venice and its art.

Please Note: This lecture will be preceded by our Annual General Meeting at 11.00am, and followed by a Buffet Lunch (pre-booking essential) at approximately 12.45pm.
